Heated Bamboo Massage
This new form of massage therapy is gaining in popularity and is now being offered at many exclusive spas throughout the country. The technique uses warm bamboo (or rattan) sticks heated by a moist heating pad. By varying depth of pressure, a skillful therapist can perform either a general energizing, rejuvenating, yet relaxing massage; or deep tissue and/or trigger point work.
The penetrating warmth of the sticks makes deep tissue and trigger point work more comfortable for the client and the ease of application causes absolutely no stress and strain on the therapist’s body; especially thumbs, wrists and forearms. When applied with slow, even strokes, the warmth of the bamboo can also provide the benefits of myofascial release.
Both the tools and heating pad are lightweight and easy to carry and the sticks never get uncomfortably hot; making heated Bamboo massage more portable and safer than Hot Stone Massage. Students will be required to supply their own equipment for class. Allow at least two weeks for ordering.
Please click on "Tools/Equipment" tab on Home Page for information on ordering equipment and what to bring to class. Thanks ....
